About

Alonzo Claybrook

I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. I interned at MSU doing various graphic design work. Due to the lack of design opportunities in Lansing, MI, I was forced for majority of my design work to be freelance work. That lead me to my decision to move to San Diego for more of those opportunities to show my work.

After working 40 hours a week, I had to commit all of my free time to freelance work. It was really a work/work balance but it was worth it all when I was asked to create something that I liked (which was most of the time). I had to find time to learn new ways to design. That’s when I took a deeper dive into After Effects.

My creative approach is to get every idea I have sketched out and then sketch out the ideas that fits the audience I’m creating for and then work towards a happy medium. I try to be really well rounded and be able to create different medias. I feel that approach keeps your mind open to new ideas because you can see things in different angles.

I have a strong desire to prove myself and with my move to San Diego, I’m more motivated than ever. I’m ready to work!
